If there is one thing Sandgate is known for, it is the gorgeous walking/running/bikeways that feature along our foreshore. It is becoming evident that the move to be more active and healthy is creating an impact on where people are choosing to live. Of course, schools, facilities and transport are still a consideration, but so is the desire to live somewhere that provides the opportunity to get outdoors and get active. The pathways that wind their way along our foreshore are the perfect location for an early morning run, walk or bike ride. In fact, it’s not unusual to find our very own agent, Aarthi Venkatesan, running along the waterfront most mornings. Let’s not also forget the kitesurfing, paddleboarding and kayaking opportunities present along the bay also.
If fitness and health is of importance to you, why not come along to the Community Wellness Expo & Fun Run being held by local community organisation, Sandbag. There will be Fun Runs of 8km, 4km and a 1500m (for the kids) as well as market stalls, music, speakers, organic foods, health providers, Yoga, Tai Chi and so much more. You can find out more information or register to run at SANDBAG Community Wellness Expo and Fun Run . Come along and see what Sandgate and our surrounding suburbs have to offer for a healthy active lifestyle.
